Laura Nikkel

I believe that everyone comes into therapy with their own personal story, a past that is unknown, and a uniqueness which requires an individualized approach that meets the consumer and/or family's needs. I believe in a Client-Centered Approach which utilizes acceptance, congruence, and empathy. These are essential for the client to rediscover themselves and to return to a healthy, self-actualizing path. Other approaches I utilize include: Child and Adult Orientated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Crisis Intervention Model, Task Centered and Narrative Therapies, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe in empowering individuals and families, improving self-awareness and personal growth, while healing from past and present life events so they can successfully continue on their journey in life.
